“My illustration’s subject is the Palazzo della Civiltà italiana, also called Colosseo Quadrato (Square Colosseum). The palace itself is quite simple but, at the same time, majestic. The hardest part was to make it appear less static. That’s why I have chosen an angled and dynamic perspective to which I added shades that blend together the palace, the sky and the surrounding area, resulting in a much more abstract image.”
