Born in Pisa, I currently live and work in Bologna. When I was eighteen, I decided to pursue a career in drawing, for this reason I enrolled in the Comics and Arts Academy as well as the University of Visual Design in Florence.
The teachings I received in both institutions were fundamental in defining my approach to illustration, an approach based on the synthesis of shapes and composition.
In 2013 one of my first illustrations, inspired by Journey to the Center of the Earth, was selected by the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna and, from that moment, I’ve started working on various projects for children’s books and for both the publishing and the advertisement industries. I’ve collaborated with many incredible brands, to say a few, Liberty, Timberland, New Yorker, Monocle and Airbnb. My job was selected and awarded by some of the most important institutions in this field, American Illustrator, Communication Art and White Raven and, in 2015, I was also awarded a gold and a silver medal by the New York Society of Illustrators.
I’ve decided to be part of RomaID because I think its goal of highlighting less-known areas of Rome, by looking for its new identity among its citizens rather than among its monuments, is very ambitious.
Having the chance to create something based on this hidden sides of Rome was quite interesting.
